Dr. Gregory R Boyce

Greg Boyce was raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He conducted his undergraduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he received a ACS-certified B.S. in Chemistry in 2006. As an undergraduate, Greg began research with Professor Craig Hill in the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates.

 

After graduating, he moved to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to work with Professor Jeffrey S. Johnson on silyl glyoxylate cascade reactions and new types of asymmetric umpolung reagents. Upon graduating with his Ph.D., Greg began his career in as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA before moving to Florida Gulf Coast University where he holds the rank of Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry.

 

He is currently on sabbatical for 2021-2022 where he is a visiting scholar at the University of St. Andrews with Prof. Andrew Smith working on enantioselective reactions catalyzed by isothioureas.
